750km Transmission Line Towers Start Operating across Desert Taklimakan Desert

December 2024 witnessed the completion and operation of the 750 kV transmission and transformation project with the largest single investment scale during China's "14th Five-Year Plan" period. This is also the 750 kV transmission and transformation project with the longest desert line in my country. More than 90% of the transmission line towers are in the southern part of the Taklimakan Desert, and nearly 400 kilometers of lines pass through the desert. According to the plan, by the end of the "14th Five-Year Plan", the Xinjiang power grid will form a main grid pattern of "seven ring networks for internal supply and five channels for external transmission", providing strong kinetic energy for Xinjiang's energy advantage to be converted into economic advantage.
